1. Thank you for taking some time to be interviewed for Trap Metal Magazine. Can you please introduce yourself to our readers and tell us your name?!
Hey, I want to you for taking the time! My name is LuminBeats on all platforms, but I go by Luminous or just Andy.
2. How long have you been producing music under this project title?
I got into music production around 10 years ago. I would just play around with garageband and make silly projects with my close friends until it became a serious passion for myself. The official start to the Luminous concept came around 4 years after that, when I educated myself further and invested into getting the tools.
3. Who gets bragging rights for helping you get to where you are now? Who are your day ones?
I would say that I would have to go to my parents. I’m so thankful to have the support from both of them, I honestly don’t think I could ever articulate that into words.
4. What were you doing before all this started? Did you have other notable projects before this one?
My main aspiration in life was to create. Since a young age all I’ve wanted to do was use my creativity to make something and project what I felt inside. I’ve never been the best at telling people how I feel so I’ve always found a balance and a way to express myself through art and creation. Ever since I started this project, I’ve released the first instalment of my UltraViolet Series and many other projects with other underground artists of my selection.
5. What can we expect from you next year? New music, visuals or tours?
I’ve used the last year or so to take some time and reflect on where I am and who I am. Ultimately, in that time I was able to sit down with myself and compose some of the best music I have ever made, and I’m beyond thrilled to drop it.
I have the second installment of the UltraViolet series coming early this year, including features from artists I’ve worked closely with for a long time and some new talent as well. I have some insane visuals and projects on the way so stay tuned!
6. What are your long-term goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years. What about your end game?
I’m not sure where I’ll be in 10 years from now to be completely honest. But, I do know that I’ll be using my creativity in some way, shape or form. I want to be able to extend my music career and turn this into my life, and I know that I can see myself committing to it. When I think about an end game, I think about having a family or being content with myself in a comfortable environment and I don’t want to focus on that part of me just yet. So, I think I would have to say that I would just see myself going as far as I can possibly go with the one thing I’m most passionate about, music.
7. With an interest in who your influences are, if you could go on tour with anyone in the world, who would be on the bill with you?
That’s a really tough question. I think if I had to pick any artist to go on tour or collab with it would either be nascar aloe or scarlxrd.
8. What is your local music scene like? What are the pros and cons? And where do you see room for improvement?
My local music scene doesn’t have the most to offer, but I won’t overlook the upcoming talent I do have around me. I’ve worked with a few of the local artists in my area and I love doing it. I think we could definitely have some more dark trap and metal artists around my area, but I know that it also isn’t the most popular music amongst people here.
9. Here at TMA we’re constantly looking for fresh talent and prospective features. If you had to choose 5 artists from your circle to put us on too, who would you choose and why?
I think the artist I would put at the top of my list would have to be Helli. She is a very versatile artist who can range from scream to electronic vocals. I’ve worked with her for many years and I will continue to do so.
The second on my list is 8mil_. This artist came from the same area I’m from but I’ve never known him well until we connected over music, and I found his work to be amazing. You should check him out for sure!
Another artist I would recommend would be Freem. This is another artist from my general area and I’ve grown to love his music. He has really smooth vocals and always comes through with a banger. He’s also featured on my upcoming album.
The fourth artist I’d like to put you onto is Zeroxthrash. An artist that I discovered through social media. He has the most intense rising scream rap talent out right now and it’s the best music to rage out to.
The final artist I’d recommend to you is Gunnr. Another artist from around me. He has grown to be a very consistent artist and he continues to grow.
10. As we wrap this up, is there anything else you want to add? And thank you for your time!
Honestly I don’t have much to say but stay safe! There is too much negative energy being passed around today and it makes me sick. Protect what you have. Protect your people. And never forget to just do what you do best and never let anyone take that light away from you. Love, Luminous
