“Deathwish” by SZED is an eerie and emotionally charged EP featuring three tracks. The vocals throughout are spooky and atmospheric, conveying deep emotion even without understanding the language. The mysterious nature of the lyrics adds to the overall haunting vibe. The second track stands out with a feature from Apoc Krysis, offering a dynamic collaboration that enhances the EP’s depth. The final track is the heaviest, delivering a powerful closing statement. The audio production leans towards a DIY aesthetic, which complements the raw and unpolished feel of the EP. This approach adds authenticity and matches the dark, emotional tone of the music. “Deathwish” by SZED is a unique listening experience. The blend of eerie vocals, passionate delivery, and a DIY production style makes it a standout project. Despite the language barrier, the emotion and passion in the music are palpable, making it a compelling listen. I give the Deathwish EP a solid rating of 7/10. And also like to add that the cover art was laid out like a Cassette Tape J card. One of my favorite styles when it comes to cover art so he got some extra credit for that.
