SF – What’s up Thank you for letting us interview you. What’s you’re name and where are you from?
SUMMER ALONE – my name is SUMMER ALONE, originally from North London but relocated to LA earlier this year.
SF – That’s sick man home of where punk was born in London love it!
What’s it like growing up there? Is there a music scene? How did you come up with you’re name? How was the plane trip?
SUMMER ALONE – growing up was very difficult obviously growing up on a council estate / projects and my mum moving around a lot, rains a lot, but i will be honest, a lot of talent in the past has come from london (even the talent now) so i always have a bittersweet feeling when asked about London, there was a niche underground music scene back in 2019/2020 but i guess the wave died & not many people could adapt. but at the moment it’s mainly alt rock, drill or DNB, also shout out pinkpantheress also from London. my name comes from 2 meanings. obviously being born in july so that’s makes me a “summer baby” and also on the darker side of the meaning it’s mainly to explain my mental state and how it worsens during the summer so i tend to spend it alone.
SF – Unique name love the vibes and everything! I totally understand what you mean by that, DNB/alt rock is huge out there. July is a hot month for summer haha and everyone has their ups and downs put the pain into art like your doing. Go insane in the membrane I love it!! Who’s supporting you and a big part of your career to where you are right now?
SUMMER ALONE – My fans, i’ll always say my fans before anything, they support so much
SF – Shouts out to those one time we’re nothing without them. If you can tour in the world today who would it be to cause hell with on stage? What’s up your sleeve with the new visuals, projects, can we expect new content from you soon?
SUMMER ALONE – zillakami or nascar aloe. i love nascar he my big brother fr so i know it’d be chaos lol. and zilla mainly due to both of our grunge-esqe sound, i got a lot of visuals being filmed and edited as we do this interview right now actually haha, but for projects, maybe a collab tape or a few w a few music homies i know on soundcloud. and an album for 2024, taking it quite seriously for this one i can’t give too much sauce away lol, the suspense is better.
SF – Badass I love it! Haha yea Nascar a real one great personality and puts out fire music same with Zilla. Gotta stay busy and productive all times keep inspiring the youth. Can’t wait for those fire mv’s to drop! What’s your daily rituals before creating like? Do you record a few then take a break continue the next day? How’s the writing come out?
SUMMER ALONE – i work until i crash all the time, barely write unless i wanna show off my lyrical side
but i either go through my beats i made myself or beats my production team send through choose the one i’m feeling set up the equipment & record
so i wake up, eat (sometimes haha) smoke, set up equipment
go through beats, record all god damn day, crash
SF – That’s the spirit let em know for these upcoming artists they gotta want it fr! Where do you see yourself in the future from now within a few years? How old were you when you got your first tattoo? What’s the story behind it? does it have any meaning?
SUMMER ALONE – the future is a tricky question lol
i just hope that everything that i’ve been doing eventually makes sense that’s all and my flowers are given. i was actually 18 when i got my 1st tattoo, it was dead bart simpson on my left forearm. the story behind it? it was the beginning of covid lockdown i was bored and my ex owned a tattoo gun so i said fuck it lol.

SUMMER ALONE – most cover art nowadays is either done by me doodling & scribbling onto random pics lol
or whoever deathproof tend to go for artwork cover been leaning to getting life photos done or practicing self expressionism art so my covers are more sentimental to me i only work w artists who can match my grunge aesthetic or the “organized” chaos” that my music represents
